My Greatest Vacation…..so far

A few years back, I took what today, is the best vacation I have ever had.  In fact in some ways it changed my life.  This was a trip that most likely I would have never taken if it wasn’t for one of my dear friends that we travel with frequently.  As we were pondering where to go next, she suggested an adventure vacation.  It sounded good, but what did it mean?  One man’s adventure is another man’s walk in the park.  I had never been on an “Official Adventure Vacation” before, so, yeah, why not. I’m in!  Now, I could reveal where we went and what we did right here and now, but that would rob me of the fun of telling a story.

As I said before, these friends, another couple, who we have been traveling with for years now, came up with this idea and it sounded really exciting and exotic.  Even though she couldn’t actually pronounce the place she wanted to go.   After doing a little research into it, we decided it would be great to invite some others as well.  Invites went out, and we ended up with a total of 8 people who wanted to experience this adventure.  As it turned out, not everyone knew the others, the common denominator was myself and my partner, Patrick.  If you have ever traveled with friends, you know it can be heaven or hell, when you start mixing personalities, this can be a challenge.  In itself this could be called an Adventure Vacation just from the perspective that most of use have not traveled together before.

This was not the kind of trip that you just decide to do and a month later your on your way, this was planned about a year in advance.  And aside from the 8 of us, we had a complete team of about 22 people during the main part of this trip.  And, that my friends takes some planning.  Now, I have to tell you that I kept a journal of this trip, the whole 3 weeks.  I wrote in my journal everyday, recounting our days adventure.  And I have never, I mean never allowed anyone to read my Journal entries.

You will be the first to do so.

Over the next month or so,  I will be posting my Journal entries here, It will be my goal to get at least 2-3 up every week.  Why can’t I just do one Post and be done with it you ask?  Well because I have more than 100 pages of writings, so that would be one very long post.  So as not to bore you, and believe me there will be some days that my posts will bore you.  And because of time, I have much travel scheduled between now and June.  It is best to get a few posts a week out to you, so you can follow along.  Now for those of you out there, that were on this trip, I promise to be respectful and I will edit things that are not appropriate.

I hope you will take the time to follow along as I relive this Adventure, I hope to do it in a way that you feel as though you were right there going through it with us.

Can you tell where we are going?

I would like to dedicate this series to Sandra and Judith.  They both taught me some valuable lessons, thank you.

Until then,

Happy Travels
