Miss Travel? It’s not what you think
Most of you know I travel nearly every week. When I do have those rare times when I am not on the road for a week or so, someone always wants to know if I miss traveling. Usually the answer is NO. When you do it so much and for business as opposed to pleasure travel isn’t that much fun. Truth is, sometimes I do feel restless when I am not traveling. I suppose I have become used to the hustle and bustle of an Airport, hiking my way to the rental car and as is usual for me, getting lost once I leave the airport. I believe I have been “conditioned” over time to believe that my life of travel is normal. Perhaps some psychiatric help is in order for my “condition”.
Today’s post is not really about missing travel, it’s about MissTravel. A new website that claims to be “The #1 Travel Dating Social Network” site on the Internet. Let me tell you a little about how this site works. With a tag like “Who Needs Money, Beautiful People Travel Free”. Who wouldn’t want to travel for free? I must ask who decides if your attractive, if your one of the beautiful people?
Miss Travel is basically broken down into two groups, Generous Members and Attractive Members. Apparently it’s not necessary to be attractive if your generous. It’s pretty clear that the Attractive Member is one who can’t afford to travel and therefore must be attractive in order to get one of the Generous Members to foot the bill for that trip.
If your wondering how to travel for free, the site claims this is how you do it.

Who could argue with that offer. But what if your neither Generous or Attractive, then how do you get to travel for free? I think your staying home! I was unaware of this basic need of travelers, are there really hundreds of thousands of travelers who can’t find someone to travel with them that they need to rely on a Website to bring them together? It appears so. For some reason I keep coming back to the George Clooney movie, Up in the Air. A lonely man seeks love while in an airport.
So for those of you who are either Generous or Attractive here is how you do it.

I have written before about traveling with friends and how it is fraught with disaster if your not open, honest and prepared for the worse. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I was traveling with someone I didn’t know at all.
That is quite interesting and hilarious at the same time. I’m not sure which I would be – it depends on the audience, but I’m damn well not paying anyone to fly with me…ok, maybe Enrique Iglesias, but I’m pretty sure I can’t afford him! At least he can sing to me instead of squish, hack or talk to me. Ha!
I would love to talk to someone who has actually used this service. I have so many questions for them. I’m with you, I would not use it. Mostly because I am cheap and wouldn’t pay for someone else to fly with me that I don’t know. And because I am vain. I am sure I am one of the Attractive people, aren’t I, aren’t I? I sound so needy now. LOL
Ha! Well, to a woman, a sense of humor is really more important (well, and not living on the streets hooking to survive). Seriously, I would say yes to Attractive. For me it depends on the day, but I would think so about myself (how vain). Then again, beauty is subjective and you can be gorgeous and turn into the Old Lady That Lived in the Shoe with a scowl if you don’t have a good attitude and treat people right! (that’s mine, not husband’s)
I have one more funny comment (courtesy of my spouse): there’s always going to be beautiful women. And there’s always someone tired of putting up with her shit!
