I don’t know about you, but I get so busy during the hustle and bustle of the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Holiday’s that I sometimes feel like I’ve missed about 60 days of my life. So what do you do to slow down during this time?
This year I attended the Phoenix Zoo Lights event that is held every year at the Phoenix Zoo. The Phoenix Zoo Lights event is considered to be one of the top 5 Zoo Lights in the United States. Don’t know what Zoo Lights are? Well your in for a treat, especially if you live in Phoenix or it’s surrounding cities. Every year the Wildlife of the Zoo gives way to Wild Lights of the Zoo. Essentially the Zoo is completely decked out with bright, festive christmas lights, music, animatronic animals, lighted animals that move, food, drink and a tremendous crowd. More than 3.5 million lights and 600 light sculptures of animals. But it is something that shouldn’t be missed, it’s a wonderful event for children. And you still have time, The Phoenix Zoo Lights will conclude this year’s run on January 8th, 2012. Nightly from 6 p.m to 10 p.m.
Enjoy the 24 foot diameter lighted sphere floating on the lake, visit Stingray Bay and pet a stingray. I love to walk through the Music in Motion dancing tree show, absolutely beautiful and fun to walk through. Oh yeah, and if your into it how about a Camel Ride, yeah you can do that too. Or maybe the Polar Side is more to your liking.
It’s a great way to slow down and really appreciate the beauty of the holiday season. Now if you miss it this year, don’t fear it will be back next year, but definitely make your way there to experience The Phoenix Zoo Lights.
