About the Post

Author Information

My name is Scott and I like to travel. There I said it, wow that does feel better. There is probably a program for my affliction somewhere. I am what I would consider a Normal Guy. I am a native Arizonan, sometimes we are called “Zonies”. I am in my mid 40′s and enjoy a great life. I am self employed and have a wonderful daughter and Partner. Although I would say my life is a fairly normal one, I am also quite lucky in that I have the ability to travel and enjoy the world, I enjoy learning about other cultures and experiencing the world around us. I want to be right upfront about the type of travel I enjoy and the type I don’t. You will probably not ever read a story of about me backpacking my way through the serengeti during the height of summer, nor will you probably read any stories of me sleeping in the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton in Paris. I am not a budget traveler, nor am I an uber luxury traveler, I fall somewhere in the middle, where most people fall I believe. I started this blog for the sole purpose of sharing my stories, my views and my excitement for traveling around this world with my friends, family. However it doesn’t stop there for me, I also wanted to make friends with others around the world, those who travel and those who dream of travel. Blogs and Websites evolve over time, mine will no doubt expand over time as well please come back and see what has taken place. However if you have come to my blog to schedule a flight or a hotel, this is not the place.

Monday’s Musings

As a blogger I would say I spend an equal amount of time thinking about what to write as I do reading other blogs.  There are so many wonderful people out there blogging.  The topics range from A to Z and a wealth of information and insight to their particular view point.  I have come to really enjoy reading posts from others and communicating with them on a range of topics.  Travel is a funny thing, if we only view it from it’s most basic definition then we are simply going to physically go somewhere.  I have found that travel doesn’t really have to mean that.  There are times when I travel but never leave home.  It’s because I have read or viewed something that inspires me to dream of travel, or I experience something that makes me travel back in my mind to a different time.

The point to my post today is that for those who may not have the means today to pack a bag and physically go somewhere, there are millions of blogs out there that will inspire your dreams of travel.  Now, there is an unwritten rule that you shouldn’t promote other people’s blogs, after all I am working hard to gain an audience as well, but frankly other bloggers do a better job at telling some stories than I do.  I am no professional writer, and I am aware of it.  However I hope mine is one of those Blogs you have bookmarked and come back to time and time again, but if you don’t mind a few more recommendations, I would like to share some with you.

This young lady has become a traveling nomad in search of a great story to tell.  Many people pursue their dreams of traveling the world to see the monuments and learn the culture, GlobalBios wants all of that as well, but the elusive “story” is what drives her.  The stories she has written about Turkey have been fun to read and inspiring at the same time.  She writes from the heart, she isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.  I hope you give her a try.

The Chamborres Expedition

Mike and Amy, young twenty-somethings from Denver out in the world, experiencing life and love.  I like their story and their passion to travel.  Besides, any friend of St. Marrten is a friend of mine.  Check out their “About Us” page to learn more about their love affair with life and each other.

The Hedonista

Sarah Walton is the Hedonista and she is funny.  It’s her writing that has drawn my attention to her blog, well that and the incredible stories and photographs she shares with her readers.  She lives in Dubai and brings a unique view of that country to us here, it’s a place that many of us will probably never visit.  After reading Sarah’s  stories and reviews, I have to rethink my position about visiting Dubai one day.

Rantings of an Amateur Chef

Who doesn’t eat?  Thats right we all do, but how many of us know how to cook?  Well Pat Geyer a chef living in Cleveland, Ohio does a great job of sharing simple, easy to prepare and what certainly appear to be delicious recipes with step by step photos to help those who might be a little afraid of the Kitchen.

I hope you stop by their blogs and give them a read when you have some time.  I have certainly enjoyed reading about their travel experiences.

It is a Holiday today here in the U.S., I will be back with more content later in the week as I am enjoying the holiday.

Happy Travels
