Author Information

My name is Scott and I like to travel. There I said it, wow that does feel better. There is probably a program for my affliction somewhere. I am what I would consider a Normal Guy. I am a native Arizonan, sometimes we are called “Zonies”. I am in my mid 40′s and enjoy a great life. I am self employed and have a wonderful daughter and Partner. Although I would say my life is a fairly normal one, I am also quite lucky in that I have the ability to travel and enjoy the world, I enjoy learning about other cultures and experiencing the world around us. I want to be right upfront about the type of travel I enjoy and the type I don’t. You will probably not ever read a story of about me backpacking my way through the serengeti during the height of summer, nor will you probably read any stories of me sleeping in the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton in Paris. I am not a budget traveler, nor am I an uber luxury traveler, I fall somewhere in the middle, where most people fall I believe. I started this blog for the sole purpose of sharing my stories, my views and my excitement for traveling around this world with my friends, family. However it doesn’t stop there for me, I also wanted to make friends with others around the world, those who travel and those who dream of travel. Blogs and Websites evolve over time, mine will no doubt expand over time as well please come back and see what has taken place. However if you have come to my blog to schedule a flight or a hotel, this is not the place.

Fishing for beauty in Italy

Fishing-boats-nets-Procida-island-Campania-ItalyI am not sure what it is about me, but I am always fascinated with things most people might look past.  The beautiful colors of a building, the curve of a road, stairs that go on for ever etc.  I have 100’s of photo’s of Arches and Stairs/Steps in Italy.  To me there is something fascinating about them.  Maybe it’s because of their age or the stories they could tell if they could tell.  But the everyday objects that we look past as we hustle and bustle our way through our days are something that I think we should stop and look at.  I love to photograph those very things that most people, including myself take for granted.  While along the Amalfi Coast this month, one of my favorite things to photograph the beautiful little, old fishing boats.  No, not the Mega Yachts that tend to be anchored off shore (but I do have a lot of pictures of them as well).  But the small, old, and still relevant fishing boats.  Many of these boats I photograph are, to say the least very old, but they are also lovingly maintained because they are work horses.  I think that many of them are the first boats that the fishermen or seamen get or build when they are young.  They are lovingly maintained and worked, to be handed down to one generation or another.

When I look at each and everyone of them, I wonder what great stories they hold, if only a boat could talk.  I would whole heartedly listen.

Happy Travels

Hi Guys, Love this picture. Great shot. Another of my favorite is the one with the line of orange boats and the man in one repairing his net. (assume that is what he is doing.) Sounds like you are having a great time. Have the girls arrived yet? This is only the first mail we got except for the (Hello?) Dad had been asking and I told him you are all just having a great time. God< I love this picture. You really need to enlarge this one. We've been busy. Dad is fine. Sched for Veno on June 2. No, Not a wine party. We just had the plumbing valves redone in the whole house . Also had a NOVA water system put in. Water softener without the salt. About the size of a medium fire ext. and new garbage disposal. The company that did the work is the one we have had contract for AC for over 30yrs. Also do plumbing. Threw another year of free serv too. Boy, What a difference. This should stop the damage this hard water is doing. Yea,, no more ring around the toilet. I'm doing PT for my leg. Have about a thumbs with difference in leg length which has caused a lot of pain and problems. Using a temp lift which is helping a lot.. Finally feel I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Will show pictures to Dad later. Did show him this one real quick thou and he agrees with me. GRREAT PICTURE. Be safe and kiss the girls for me. Love Mom
